Stillwater Cove April 15 1870
Lieber Freund John
Ich kann dier wissen lassen
daß wier jetz so siemlich alle
gesund sind und hoffe
es auch von Euch alle
hier, nun geht’s ja bald
loß mit meiner Fraun
daß die wieder im bette
zu liegen kömt so
habe ich immer genocht
zu thun letzen winter
war die kleine Herman
immer krank. so diesen
Winter habe Ich nicht viel
gemacht. Ich hofe daß
die Thoner hier bald wieder
anfangen zu laden
den wird es besser gehen,
den kann man doch mehr
verdienen als wen

man im Holtz arbeiten
muß, Lieber John Ich will
dich etwas Geld hinunter
schicken mit den Charly
und bitte daß deine
Lieber Fraue bissen
Tea und solche sachen ein
kaufen wollte was Sie
im Kindbette brauche
und sollte es nicht genocht
sein so will Ich dier daß
andere schicken so bald
wen das Blanckers was
Holtz geschickt hat, den
jetz hat er auch nichts
hier und bitte dich ferner
doch du möchtest so gut sein
und mir zwei Briefe be-
sorgen der einen soll an
die Loge und der andere
an dein Campt. wen du
nach der Halle gehts

und in den Briefkasten
stecken daß denke will daß
beste sein, und hoffe daß
du mir mahl schreiben
thues wie es in der Stadt
ist. so will Ich schließen und
hoffe bald mein anwort.
