English Text

Stegers, June 11, 1889

Dear Aunt,

With the best of health I seize the pen and hope you will politely excuse this letter I’m bothering you with.  You already have easily heard that I am now already in Germany for a visit.  I quit Helena, Montana on the 10th of May and had one very happy and favorable journey.  On the 3rd of June I was home.

I no longer like it here and also can no more please (my family), so I think I will return to America

as soon as possible.  I wish to buy myself a little land thereabout where I have already gone.  I will thank you in advance if you could tell me whether there is still land to sell or how expensive it is there.

Dearest Aunt, I don’t ask for your help (monetary) and no thanks are enough for me to give you if I could receive a message from you soon.  It would be better if the news traveled from you.

My cousin Angelika Kadzinska

will go to classes next spring.  She will go to school every day.

I will close this request and I am hopeful that my writing finds you with the best of health.  I send you my regards.

Your nephew,
Frank Mansolf

And also hearty greetings from my Mother, Father and Grandmother.

Good Bye until I hear from you
