Lachen, October 26, 1858 [Yiddish] Dear son Meir,
With joy I take up the pen to write [to you] that we are all, thank the Lord, healthy and hearty. I [illeg. superscript word] that all is also the same with you for we want to take advantage of the good opportunity [two ambiguous words] but [illegible] aunts from [Inge[l]heim]1 are2 travelling to America [concerning which] we are sending you3 [one or two illegible words] which you will [kindly take] because it was [too gladly] how we had experienced [illegible] we would have otherwise sent dear son [two ambiguous words] with the little [you have] and I hope that you will [illegible verb] health. Dear son, overlook my bad handwriting because I’ve written it in a hurry. I remain your mother [illegible word(s) between the lines] many times and remain your mother for eternity.
