Isaac Schweitzer to his family, June 19, 1879

English Text

Frankenthal, Juni 19/79 Dear loved ones. I hope that you are all well. The same is true of us. The purpose of this [letter] is that the lawsuit against the witness is postponed to next Monday. The witnesses against the accused are indeed well versed. His lawyer, however, asked for a grace period of 8 days but he will not do anything. The strangest thing is that Ab. Neuberger was buried here on Tuesday. On Monday night he was brought here as a corpse. Rumor has it that he killed himself by jumping down to the third floor, however, this is in the dark; [but] this is the end of this wretched human being. General joy among the people here. More next week. Best regards Isaac
